My Specialties

Do you feel pressure to maintain the appearance of a happy, successful person or couple but behind closed doors you know you’re struggling? Things are not what they seem from the outside looking in, but you don’t know what to do about how you feel.

You could be feeling a sense of ongoing dread or anxiety. A memory from the past may feel like it's haunting you. Maybe you are drinking more than you want to be, or you've noticed you feel consumed by what you do or don't eat on a given day. Maybe you lost someone and you think you should be over it by now, or you wish your relationships were more fulfilling, connected, and a reflection of what you really want. It may feel like no matter what you do, you feel overwhelmed and depleted. Or you might be wondering why you can never say no to your family or friends.

As a couple, maybe you are fighting all the time or maybe you hardly talk at all. You may wonder when you went from lovers to roommates. Perhaps you have a big decision ahead of you and you can't get on the same page. Your extended families may be demanding things of you that you don't know how to give. Maybe you've experienced a betrayal or life change that you don't know how to talk about. Perhaps the person who used to be your whole world now feels like they inhabit a different planet.

Whatever it may be, you don't have to figure out what you're feeling and what you want on your own. We can carve out space to make our way toward your answers and healing together. In psychotherapy, we dig in to understand the ways in which, without realizing it, the past may be dictating your current life. This may leave you feeling like you keep repeating the same patterns over and over. You know something needs to change but you don’t quite know what.

Together, with patience, curiosity, and compassion, we will explore the questions that weigh on your heart and the events that have made you the person/couple/family you are. The work you do in therapy will allow you, in time, to feel like the tools you need to change and heal are readily available to you. We do this therapeutic work together so that you can build a truly meaningful and connected life, a life you feel at home in, in this intense and changing world.

Relationships, Couples, and Families

I facilitate healing conversations for couples, friends, family members, and chosen family members. Thriving relationships and emotional connectivity makes our experience of life much more fulfilling. Utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy and trauma-informed & attachment based techniques, our work together can transform the quality of your core relationships.

Grief & Loss

Whether anticipated or a shock, there is little that changes the course of our lives more than loss — whether it’s of a loved one, a dream, a job, etc. We can make space to feel the weight of your grief, honor what has been and what is yet not known, and help you find your way forward with kindness, patience, and strength.

Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma

Many of us face seasons of anxiety and depression –  or both –  in our lives. This could be situational or an ongoing diagnosis. You may also be sorting through a past traumatic experience that you’ve not processed within a safe space. Let’s provide you with practical tools to help you cope on a daily basis while we uncover the deeper layers of the pain you hold inside.

Mind & Body

I offer guidance when you’re wanting to explore a healing and liberating relationship with your sexuality, food & body image, navigating an adult-onset ADHD diagnosis, examining your relationship with substances, and coping with hormonal, emotional and physical changes related to aging.

Life Transitions

The only thing certain in our life is change. Sometimes the change is welcomed, and sometimes it is forced upon us. We can create space for you to slow down and listen to what you need to guide you through a new chapter, season, or identifying aspect of your life.

The quality of our lives depends on the quality of our relationships.

About Ashlee

I have always been a seeker at heart. Hearing other people’s stories of heartache, pain, desire, and hope is where I feel most at home. I have worked in the mental health field for almost 20 years, including nonprofit mental health executive leadership, and a private practice clinician since 2013.

Personally, I have known life to be both brutal and beautiful, and my role as a therapist is informed by the belief that we don’t have to navigate the ebbs and flows of what life requires of us alone.

Over the years, I have helped clients sort through everything from the loss of a loved one to setting overdue boundaries with family, from an adult ADHD diagnosis to struggles with drinking too much, from dating to divorce, and everything in between.

I offer psychodynamic, relational therapy to people who want to dig deeper and better understand who they are, where they hold pain, why they do the things they do, and what makes their life meaningful.
