Meet Ashlee
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas (92749) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (LH60990360). Additionally, I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor in the state of Washington.
Professionally, I have been in the mental health field since 2007. I have worked in private practice, higher education, and at the executive level of several mental health nonprofits serving marginalized communities including disability services, unhoused community care, and harm reduction resources for substance users. Most recently, I served as the Chief Program Officer at Project HEAL, a national eating disorder organization dedicated to breaking down systemic barriers to eating disorder treatment. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in 2012 and have been in private practice work since 2013.
I grew up in the Midwest and as a child, though I came from much privilege, I also encountered much heartache and trauma, some due to uncontrollable external circumstances and some due to inherited trauma from generations before me. My adverse childhood experiences ignited in me a desire to understand my own life with more depth and clarity and I began my own therapeutic journey at 20 years old. Having experienced firsthand the radical ways in which therapy has changed my life over the past two decades, I have taken on this calling to lead myself and others toward more wholeness and healing.
When I’m not working I can be found on my New York Times game app, thrifting furniture and art, reading at a coffee shop, taking in Houston’s vibrant arts scene, cooking dinner to the perfect soundtrack, watching reruns of my favorite shows, or visiting my favorite place, New York City. I spent a decade+ of my most formative adult years in Seattle, WA and now live with my husband in Houston.
Wherever you are on your journey toward a more whole and fulfilling life, I look forward to meeting you there. It is my honor and privilege to do this sacred work.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
